Mendocino County Board of Supervisors To Vote on
|
||
| Date: | Tuesday, June 27, 2006 |
| Time: | 1:30 PM |
| Location: | Supervisors Chambers, 501 Low Gap Rd., Ukiah, CA |
The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors will hear and vote on whether to adopt a Precautionary Principle Policy for the County. The final draft is available here: MendoPrecaution.org/2006-04MendocinoPrecautionary.pdf
The Precautionary Principle has been 'in study' since October 2005. The study process has been enlightening for all involved and many department heads, staff, and members of the public are in favor of the Precautionary Principle's adoption. The hearing presents an opportunity to voice your support for Mendocino County's first environmental policy - and one that states the value of public input, transparency, full-cost accounting, and guidance towards an alternative with the least potential impact on human health and the environment.
